Dear All, Most awaited exam of the year, SSC CGL Prelims 2017 has started from today. We all know that (SSC) Staff Selection Commission is conducting Online Examination of Combined Graduate Level Examination (CGL) for various posts. Thousands of the candidates have appeared in the examination at various centres across the country.
SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam 2017 that will commence from 5th August 2017 to 24th August 2017. More than 20 lakh aspirants have applied for this year’s exams and will face cut throat competition.

SSC CGL Tier -1 : Exam Timings
Paper will be conducted in three shifts. Shift timings are as follow:- 10 AM to 11 AM
- 1:15 PM to 2:15 PM
- 4:15 to 5:15 PM

Exam Analysis of Quantitative Aptitude
The Quantitative Aptitude section was of moderate difficulty level. A majority of questions were directly based on formulas. A few questions required precise calculations. Maximum number of questions were asked from 4 topics - Algebra, Pipe & Cistern, Geometry.

Exam Analysis of General Intelligence/Reasoning
The General Intelligence/Reasoning section of SSC CGL 2017 Tier-1 was simple. The Non-Verbal Reasoning and Series questions were easy to answer, but the mathematical operation section was tough and required a lot of calculations.

Exam Analysis of English Language
The English Language section of SSC CGL 2017 came with surprises as it had twisted language and tough vocabulary. While the Comprehension part was plain-sailing , One-word substitution and Synonyms-Antonyms were toughest. Questions from cloze tests were easy, questions from Idioms and phrases were comparatively difficult. The overall paper of English Language was difficult.

Exam Analysis of General Awareness
General Awareness yet again was direct and easy. The major area of focus this year was on General Awareness questions in the field of sports and awards and honors. Science was given a higher weightage this time in General Awareness Section of SSC CGL 2017 Tier-1 Exam. The overall paper was of Moderate level.

SSC CGL 2017 Tier-1 Expected Cut-Off
The cut-off for SSC CGL 2017 Tier-1 will be published after the result of SSC CGL Tier-1 2017. The cut-off will be rolled out both State-Wise and Category-Wise. Candidates will get a proper idea about their chances of selection through the final cut-off for Tier-1 of SSC CGL 2017 Exam.
Since the exam pattern was more or less similar to that of previous year, we are anticipating the cut-off to be roughly the same as that of SSC CGL 2016.
